Ronis Ro...@discussions.microsoft.com microsoft public windows vista general I just bought a Vista Home Premium 64bit computer and am running with 2 MSI 8800 GTX video cards. Vista isn't THAT slow
The
mobo is ASUS M2N32-SLI with a AMD X2 3800+ BIOS is at 16.03 : the latest APIC is enabled/working under both Vista and Ubuntu My query isn't really the the usual sort of whine about not getting a particular device to work properly, more that I am trying to understand better how to control PCs under various OSs.

SLI in Vista Premium
I am thinking that the lockups in Vista are totally related to drivers. Most likely a combination of SLi and current vista drivers? I have installed all of the critical updates from nvidia.com and anything I could find from windowsupdate. I can run Crysis in XPx64 without crashing for hours on end.

Question on installing Vista 64 bit with 4gb of ram?

How come the OP has a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate anyway The OP is in the industry. I'm not wild about adding another drive right now, as it would have to be a traditional IDE drive (unless I actually pull the existing drives), and I've heard some significant problems mixing SATA and PATA.
